“Can you bring a vape on a plane?”

“Can you bring a vape on a plane?”

If you have completed your transition to vaping and no longer smoke, there is a good chance that your need for nicotine is not as great as it used to be. You’ll probably find that you can go longer without vaping than you could before without smoking a cigarette. However, you most likely don’t want to walk away from your vaporizer just yet if you plan on leaving the house for a while, and this certainly applies to traveling with your vaporizer. It’s not that different from wanting to take your cigarettes on the plane if you’re traveling to another country.

However, carrying vapes on airplanes is not exactly the same as carrying a pack of cigarettes, since traveling with your vape kit involves carrying two types of items (liquids and lithium-ion batteries) that airlines consider dangerous. Additionally, regional and national regulations on vaping differ significantly around the world. You can’t just assume that you’re free to purchase vaping gear and e-liquid anywhere in the world like you do with cigarettes, and carrying your vaporizer on a plane certainly isn’t as simple as carrying a pack of cigarettes in your pocket.

So will we be able to vape on a plane in 2023? In most cases, you will have no difficulty traveling with your vaporizer as long as you follow the rules governing travel with liquids and batteries. However, there are some special considerations you should keep in mind if you want your experience to be the best it can be.

Important note: International laws on electronic cigarettes are subject to change without notice.

Regulations on electronic cigarettes are constantly evolving. Before traveling, find out the current laws regarding the transport of electronic cigarettes on the plane.

The most important thing to know before taking your vape on a plane is that airline vaping regulations (and vaping laws in different countries around the world) can change without notice. Although the information contained in this article is accurate to the best of our knowledge at the time of writing, it is your responsibility to confirm all applicable rules and regulations before traveling.

Can you vape on a plane?

No airline allows vaping during the flight. You should never try to vape on a plane, as you will almost certainly get arrested and face major legal problems. If you are on a long flight and are worried about feeling sick without access to nicotine, consider carrying another form of nicotine supplement, such as nicotine gum or nicotine pouches.

Can you vape at the airport?

The best thing you can do during your trip to ensure you don’t get into trouble while vaping is to assume that you won’t be allowed to smoke in places where smoking is prohibited. This means leaving your vaping device in your bag unless you are in a designated smoking area.

One important thing to keep in mind when smoking at airports is that some airports do not have smoking areas within their security perimeter, and some airports that do have airside smoking areas do not have signs identifying these areas. If you haven’t traveled in a while and are used to having a fancy smoking lounge at every airport, keep in mind that the well-appointed smoking lounges of the past have largely disappeared from most airports. Today, smoking areas tend to be open-air cages with no air conditioning and few seats.

It is increasingly rare for airports to advertise that they have smoking areas. If you cannot find a smoking area according to the airport signs, ask a staff member for help.

In some cases, the airport you are passing through may not have a smoking area on the airside. In this case, you should enjoy your last steam before entering the airport. If you have a layover at an airport that does not have a smoking area on the airside, you must leave the airport to smoke. If the airport is abroad, you must clear customs and enter the country before you can vape. Then you will have to go through security again to return to the airport.

Since vaping is very inconvenient in some airports, this is another case where you will be happy to have an alternative form of nicotine supplementation.

How to carry your vaporizer on a plane?

Airline regulations regarding traveling with their e-cigarette equipment are mainly related to the fact that most e-cigarettes have lithium-ion batteries. Vaping battery safety is essential because lithium-ion batteries can overheat and potentially catch fire if mishandled. There is also a small risk of carrying a lithium-ion battery on flight due to the change in air pressure at altitude. For this reason, battery sellers generally must use ground carriers to ship products to consumers.

These are the rules that most airlines apply for taking your electronic cigarette on the plane.

Any vaping device with a built-in battery (or any device with a built-in battery) should be kept in your carry-on bag and turned off. Many airport security guards will also allow you to carry a single e-cigarette in your pocket.

Spare batteries should also be carried in hand luggage. Pack spare batteries in padded holders that insulate the metal terminals and prevent the batteries from touching other metal objects. You cannot carry an e-cigarette device in your checked luggage unless the battery has been removed.

If you want to bring disposable vaporizers on the plane, you’ll need to pack them in your carry-on bag and place them in the same zipper bag that you keep your liquids in. This rule applies to disposable vaporizers because they contain liquid and cannot be removed.

The rules for carrying e-cigarettes on a plane may seem strict, but it’s important to keep the risk of fire as low as possible. The fact that the batteries are in a pressurized cabin helps reduce the risk somewhat, as does the fact that onboard personnel can respond quickly to unexpected events.

Here’s how to transport your vaping liquid on a plane.

Airlines also have special rules for traveling with liquids and gels if you plan to carry these items in your carry-on bag. For this reason, you should take special precautions if you plan to bring electronic cigarettes on a plane.

Airline restrictions on carrying liquids apply to any liquid or gel products you choose to carry with you. This includes e-liquid bottles and any tanks or pods containing e-liquid. This also applies to toiletries such as toothpaste, soap, perfume and shampoo.

To carry a bottle of e-liquid in your carry-on, the bottle must contain a maximum of 1  (approximately 30 ml).

All liquid products in your carry-on bag should fit into a single reseal able bag. When passing through airport security, you must remove the zip lock bag from your carry-on luggage and present it for separate inspection.

After filling your zippered bag with all the toiletries and other items you want to pack in your carry-on, there may not be much room left for vape juice. However, the restrictions that apply to transporting liquids on the plane only apply to liquids in your carry-on luggage. You may carry additional e-cigarette juice in your checked luggage without restrictions. However, it is a good idea to package excess e-liquid in plastic bags in case the bottles leak.

Always Check Local Vaping Laws Before Traveling

The last thing you need to consider when traveling with your vaping equipment is whether you’ll be able to vape in all the places you’re used to at home. Maybe you like to vape, for example while walking in the park. However, many countries and communities have bans on smoking in public places that also apply to vaping, and this is another factor you should take into account before traveling. It’s always safe to assume that you shouldn’t vape in a place where smoking is prohibited
